Hoanh X. Vu, Computational Physicist

Dr. Hoanh X. Vu is an expert in parallel computing and particle-in-cell methods with applications in a wide variety of plasmas, such as laser-plasma interactions in Inertial Confinement Fusion, non-neutral plasmas, ionospheric physics, and magnetospheric physics.  He has developed a number of state-of-the-art simulations codes, including an implicit full particle code.  In addition to his position at SciberQuest, Inc., Dr. Vu also holds a Research Associate appointment at the University of California, San Diego where through a grant by the National Nuclear Security Agency, he is chartered to study laser-plasma interactions in plasma environments pertinent to the National Ignition Facility. Dr. Vu has over 30 publications in refereed journals.

Dr. Vu earned his B.S. in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1985, and his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1990.
